Policies, Procedures
& Standards of Care
Our policies are built around a simple principle: every animal entrusted to our care deserves professional expertise, humane treatment, and respect as an individual.
Setting the Standard You Should Expect for Your Pet's Care.
Care guided by respect and responsibility.
We provide specialized mobile canine aesthetics, skin and coat care, and grooming services. Our approach considers the physical, emotional, and behavioral needs of every dog.
These policies establish our expectations for clients, explain how our services operate, and define the responsibilities associated with professional grooming.
Our Standard of Humane Care
We believe that grooming should never require an animal to endure unnecessary pain, fear, exhaustion, or prolonged distress for the sake of appearance.
Our methods emphasize gentle handling, appropriate restraint, positive reinforcement, cooperative-care principles, and individualized decision-making.
We reserve the right to modify, postpone, or discontinue any grooming procedure when we determine that continuing would compromise the safety or welfare of the dog or groomer.
A completed haircut is never more important than an animal's well-being.
Client Responsibility and Full Disclosure
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information about their dog's health, behavior, grooming history, and individual needs.
This includes known medical conditions, allergies, sensitivities, medications, injuries, mobility limitations, previous grooming incidents, and any history of biting, aggression, or severe fear responses.
Information must be updated whenever circumstances change.
Failure to disclose information that materially affects grooming safety may result in termination of services.
Individual Grooming Assessments
Every appointment begins with an evaluation of the dog's coat, visible skin condition, physical comfort, and handling tolerance.
We determine appropriate techniques, products, equipment, and service limitations based on that assessment.
Our professional recommendations may differ from a requested haircut or treatment when the requested service is inappropriate for the dog's condition.
We do not guarantee that every requested style can be safely achieved.
Matting and Humane Coat Removal
ONEDOG Wellness does not perform prolonged, painful dematting to preserve cosmetic coat length.
Matting may restrict movement, trap moisture, conceal skin conditions, and create discomfort.
When matting cannot be removed comfortably through reasonable brushing and detangling, we may recommend clipping.
Clients acknowledge that severe matting can conceal pre-existing irritation, sores, bruising, parasites, or other abnormalities.
Closely matted skin may be vulnerable during removal.
We will use appropriate professional techniques and discontinue the procedure if safe removal is not possible.
Significant coat removal will be discussed with the client whenever reasonably possible.
Nail Trimming and Paw Care
Nail trimming and grinding are performed according to each dog's anatomy and handling tolerance.
The quick contains living tissue, including blood vessels and nerves. Accidental quick exposure can occasionally occur despite careful technique.
We may discontinue nail care when excessive movement or distress makes the procedure unsafe.
We do not force nail trimming when doing so creates an unreasonable risk.
Ear Care
Our ear care services are limited to appropriate external cleaning and cosmetic grooming.
We do not diagnose or treat ear infections.
Dogs displaying significant redness, pain, swelling, discharge, or unusual odor may require veterinary evaluation before ear services are performed.
Ear hair removal is not automatic and is performed only when appropriate.
Puppies and Developmental Grooming
Puppies are introduced to professional grooming gradually.
Our puppy program emphasizes gentle handling, equipment familiarization, positive reinforcement, and developmentally appropriate experiences.
We do not force puppies to complete procedures they are not ready to tolerate.
A puppy appointment may focus on education, handling, bathing, or partial styling rather than a complete haircut.
Senior and Medically Fragile Dogs
Senior dogs and dogs with medical conditions receive individualized consideration.
Appointments may be modified to accommodate mobility limitations, reduced stamina, sensory changes, and physical discomfort.
We may require veterinary guidance or decline services when a dog's condition exceeds what can safely be managed in our mobile environment.
We do not perform medical treatment or substitute grooming recommendations for veterinary advice.
Behavioral Safety
Clients must disclose known biting, snapping, aggression, escape behavior, or severe handling sensitivities.
We reserve the right to discontinue grooming when behavior creates an unreasonable risk of injury.
We do not use punishment-based handling to force compliance.
Some dogs may be better served through veterinary-supported grooming or qualified behavioral intervention.
Grooming Equipment and Restraint
Professional grooming equipment and appropriate safety restraints may be used when necessary.
All equipment is selected according to the dog's size, condition, and individual needs.
Restraint is never used as punishment.
Dogs are monitored during grooming and drying.
We reserve the right to discontinue any procedure that cannot be performed safely.
Botanical Skin and Coat Treatments
Our botanical treatments are selected according to coat type, visible skin condition, product suitability, and individual sensitivity.
Natural ingredients are not automatically safe for every dog.
We do not apply exfoliating treatments to compromised skin when doing so may cause irritation.
Our cosmetic services do not diagnose, treat, or cure veterinary medical conditions.
Mobile Grooming Access
Clients must provide a safe, accessible, and lawful parking location for the grooming vehicle.
We may decline service when parking, property conditions, weather, or access restrictions create safety concerns.
Clients are responsible for safely transferring their dog to and from the grooming vehicle.
Appointment Scheduling
Appointments are scheduled according to established mobile grooming routes.
Arrival times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, previous appointments, animal welfare needs, and unforeseen circumstances.
We will communicate significant delays whenever reasonably possible.
Cancellations and Missed Appointments
We require 48 hours' notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling.
Cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours before the appointment may incur a fee equal to 50% of the scheduled service.
Same-day cancellations, missed appointments, and appointments where the client is unavailable may incur a fee of up to 100% of the scheduled service.
Fees will be disclosed during booking.
We may waive fees for emergencies or exceptional circumstances.
Appointments canceled by ONEDOG Wellness because we cannot safely provide service will not incur a cancellation penalty.
Pricing
All published service prices are starting rates.
Final pricing reflects the dog's size, coat density, coat condition, styling requirements, appointment duration, and individual handling needs.
Specialized services, extensive coat preparation, and additional grooming time may affect pricing.
Material changes to the estimated price will be communicated for approval whenever reasonably possible.
See the Services & Pricing page for published starting rates.
Payment
Payment is due upon completion of the appointment unless another arrangement has been approved.
Clients are responsible for authorized services performed.
Any deposits, cancellation fees, or other charges will be disclosed before they are assessed.
Veterinary Emergencies
If an animal experiences a medical emergency during grooming, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner and obtain appropriate veterinary assistance.
When immediate action is reasonably necessary and the owner cannot be reached, we may contact an emergency veterinary provider under the emergency authorization obtained during booking.
Veterinary expenses are allocated according to the circumstances and applicable law.
We do not perform veterinary procedures or represent ourselves as veterinary professionals.
Injuries and Incident Documentation
Although we use professional techniques and reasonable safety precautions, grooming carries inherent risks.
Potential incidents include unexpected movement, minor abrasions, nail quick exposure, irritation, or adverse reactions.
We document significant incidents, notify the owner, and recommend veterinary assessment when appropriate.
We do not conceal injuries or continue procedures when doing so would create an unreasonable risk.
Photographs and Grooming Records
We may document coat condition, matting, skin concerns, grooming results, and incidents for professional records.
Photographs used for public marketing require separate client authorization.
Client information and grooming records are handled with appropriate confidentiality.
Our Right to Refuse or Discontinue Services
We reserve the right to refuse, modify, or discontinue services when necessary for animal welfare, professional safety, or operational reasons.
Reasons may include unsafe behavior, undisclosed medical concerns, severe distress, unsafe vehicle access, inappropriate service requests, or conditions requiring veterinary care.
Any charges for partially completed services will be based on the disclosed terms and the work reasonably performed.
Client Acknowledgment of Grooming Risks
By authorizing services, clients acknowledge that professional grooming involves inherent risks associated with animal movement, skin and coat condition, grooming equipment, and individual physical or behavioral responses.
Clients understand that ONEDOG Wellness cannot guarantee that every grooming procedure will be completed or that every cosmetic result will match a requested reference.
We remain committed to exercising reasonable professional care.
Liability and Release of Claims
To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, clients agree to release ONEDOG Wellness, its operating limited liability company, Amanda Sabet individually, and its members, managers, employees, assistants, agents, representatives, authorized contractors, and affiliates from claims arising from the ordinary inherent risks of authorized grooming services, including claims based on ordinary negligence where legally enforceable.
This provision does not release gross negligence, reckless conduct, intentional misconduct, animal cruelty, or any liability that cannot legally be waived.
Client Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, clients agree to indemnify ONEDOG Wellness and its protected parties for losses arising from the client's material misrepresentation of pet ownership, knowingly false disclosures of significant safety risks, or the client's own negligent or wrongful conduct.
This provision does not require clients to indemnify ONEDOG Wellness or its protected parties for their own negligence or wrongful conduct.
Service Limitations
ONEDOG Wellness provides professional grooming and cosmetic canine aesthetics.
We do not provide veterinary diagnosis, prescription treatment, surgical procedures, or medical guarantees.
We may recommend veterinary evaluation when an animal presents signs of illness, injury, or a condition outside the scope of professional grooming.
Acceptance of Policies
By booking and authorizing services, clients acknowledge that they have been provided access to these policies and agree to the applicable service terms.
Separate affirmative consent will be obtained for liability releases, significant coat removal, emergency veterinary authorization, and promotional photography when required.
ONEDOG Wellness reserves the right to update its policies. Updated terms apply to future appointments after appropriate notice and acceptance.
